Vinyl Shutters in Redlands
When people search for vinyl shutters, they usually mean any synthetic shutter that won't warp or peel in damp rooms. There are a few different materials under that umbrella, and they aren't the same.
The three you'll hear about
- Vinyl (PVC): moisture-resistant and easy to wipe clean. Usually white or off-white. Long panels can be heavy, so wide windows may need extra support.
- Composite: usually an engineered wood core with a protective coating. Resists moisture better than real wood, and is often chosen for kitchens and laundry rooms.
- Poly (polymer): a solid synthetic, sometimes reinforced. Designed for humidity and sun exposure and usually painted at the factory.
Quality varies a lot within each type, so the label alone doesn't tell you how a shutter will hold up. Look at how the louvers are joined, what's inside the frame, and what the warranty covers.
Honest tradeoffs
Synthetics are a good fit for bathrooms, kitchens and rooms where kids or pets are hard on things. Fewer stain colors are available than with wood, and on very wide windows the extra weight matters. Which materials can be ordered for your windows is something we'll confirm at the consultation, not promise up front.
Which room are you thinking about first, and does it get steam, splashes or full afternoon sun?
